Cannot believe we've been on the road for 2 weeks! How time passes quickly.
Found an interesting aspect of Southern Alabama - their 'high' season begins April 1st. Unlike Florida, snow bird times (November - March) and not that enticing apparently. So the great deal we got for March DOES NOT ENTEND INTO APRIL. Just the opposite - no one (that we've been able to find) rents for the month beginning in April. It's all weekly with 3 day minimum. And the prices reflect the change.Instead of $1000 for the month - it's more like $1200 a week. This becomes the spring break capital of the mid west. Everyone going to college in the midwest comes here for a week in the spring - and it extends all the way through September.
We liking it so much that our plan the other day was to make plans for March AND April in 2013. No such luck so far. But we'll continue to work on it.
Off to Mobile this AM as the ocean is still messed up with big waves and very turbid water. Temps should be mid 70's so it will be another wonderful day.
