They were correct about the winds in March - met another kite flyer yesterday and he was having the same difficulty with the gusty winds.
Looks like it will be the same again today. Can't complain about the temps though - high 50"s in the early morning but mid 70's by noon. Have already made some inquiries about next year. This area is fabulous - and I found out that even though Alabama has only 32 miles of ocean beach, there is more open space than all of Florida (not sure how accurate this is as a 'native' was giving me the local Chamber of Commerce welcome wagon outside Walgreens.
The gulf is still worked up - winds out of the east this morning and about 15MPH. Bikes may have to wait another day while we do more exploring.
Found a great place for coconut shrimp yesterday - yum! Outside under a beach umbrella overlooking the boat launch area - tough duty!
